About Fowl Plays

Welcome to Fowl Plays, where art, imagination, and a love for life come together in vibrant colour and creative expression. Based in Bristol, UK, I’m a multidisciplinary artist with a deep passion for painting, illustration, pattern design, lino printing, sculpture, and beyond. My work draws inspiration from nature, festivals, travel, fantasy, and science fiction, infused with a hefty dose of joy, humour, and the magic we create for ourselves.

For me, art is both a reflection of my journey and a projection of the beauty, playfulness, and wonder I hope to bring into the world. Over the past 20 years, I’ve honed my craft across many disciplines, from building jungle-inspired installations with Fizzy Forest to creating stages, puppets, costumes, and even furniture. I’ve exhibited at galleries across Bristol and recently made my debut at Upfest Presents, an experience I hope to build on as I collaborate with more artists, communities and charities across the UK (and someday I hope, New York!).

Every piece I create, whether a psychedelic painting, a whimsical print, or a bold piece of clothing, is designed to uplift spirits and bring a touch of the extraordinary to the everyday. I care deeply about sustainability and ensure that my products reflect that ethos. Much of my clothing is made with organic cotton by UK pioneers of circular fashion Teemill, so when your pieces eventually reach the end of their life, they can be sent back and recycled into something new. I work with print-on-demand companies like Printful to avoid overproduction, where even the fabric offcuts are repurposed for smaller projects. Every item is made with love and longevity in mind. Archival inks for prints that stand the test of time and clothing designed to grow old with you.

Fowl Plays is about more than just art; it’s about storytelling, connection, and a belief in creating a colourful, magical world for ourselves and others. Thank you for supporting this journey, it means the world to me. Whether you’re here to discover your next favourite piece of art or add some playful patterns to your wardrobe, I’m so glad you’ve stopped by.

Stay playful,

JoJo, Fowl Plays
